  SANJAY SUBRAMANIAM - March 17, 2002
  SriRam Kumer - Violin
  Arun Prakash - Mridagam

Sanjay started his concert with Viriboni ,the ata tala varnam in Bhairavi and the beautiful rendering of the varnam set the tone for a very promising concert. One after other sanjay pulled out great compositions, viz, Swaminatha Paripalayamam ,a Dikshatar composition in Nattai, Ananda nata maduvar ofNilakanta sivan in poorvikalyani, and Thiruvadi charanam, the immortal composition of Gopalakrishna Bharathi in Kanlbodhi. They were all rendered with bhavam and touched the heart. The RTP in Kalyani did justice to all aspects of a pallavi selection. The thanam was especially very artistically constructed. Kharaharapriya was rendered in Semmangudi bhani and the handling of Sakkaniraja was superb. Many thukkadas were rendered beautifully, Bogendra Saayinam, Karpuram Naarumo, Pitham theliya marundu. The accompanists very ably supported the main artist. The concert had a mesmerizing effect on the audience and can be classed as a Sanjay best. The concert was a feather in the cap of Swaralaya.
